Unlike static manual sharpeners with a single V shaped sharpening spot (that become worn after a short period of time), the wheels rotate during sharpening to increase the life and durability of the sharpener.

It sharpens both sides of the knife at the same time and there is no restriction on sharpening direction which means left-handed users can sharpen just as easily as right handed users.
