Cleaver

Sometimes, words just can’t do a product justice…….and this is one of those times!!

This could be the sharpest cleaver in the world and perhaps one of the heaviest.
Although it looks like a work of art, this cleaver is meant for the toughest of jobs and takes them on with gusto.

There is an exceptional amount of steel in this cleaver but from the moment you have it in your hands – you know that this is something very special!

Not just a beautiful thing to display, this perfectly crafted cleaver is a heavyweight piece of kit with a super-sharp blade that takes on the toughest tasks. The thick, twin-European angled blade tapers in more at the edge so you can break down small bones (such a poultry and rabbit) with ease and confidence.

I.O. Shen knives offer a unique blend of Japanese and Western sensibilities, setting them apart from the traditional Japanese knife. Sure, their Triplex Steel Technology is a marvel, but the design elevates them to another level.

A Western Touch:

Most Japanese knives are known for their lightweight build and handles crafted from metal, bamboo, or wood. I.O. Shen takes a different approach, incorporating a distinctly Western influence. Their handles boast a satisfying weight, akin to a classic German knife, perfectly complementing the razor-sharp, 15° angled Japanese steel blade.

Beauty Meets Balance:

The artistry doesn’t stop at functionality. I.O. Shen handles feature the captivating Tai Tang pattern, adding a touch of elegance to your culinary arsenal. No wonder renowned Chef Felice Tocchini describes using these knives as “…like working with a piece of art.”

A Modern Classic:

Launched in 2004, I.O. Shen Mastergrade knives have become a favourite among professional chefs and home cooks alike. Their combination of innovative technology, superior craftsmanship, and stunning design makes them a true standout in the world of cutlery.

As someone who specialises in SE Asian cooking, having a cleaver/chopper is a no brainer. They slice, they fine chop, they scoop, they bash, that’s why it’s always seen in SE Asian Kitchens. Whilst this knife is heavy, it’s not so heavy it gives you wrist ache at the end of a days use, but it does carry more than enough weight to bash garlic, ginger and slices of beef (which incidentally it’ll cut so thin so you see through it.

If you cook a lot of SE Asian then consider this an essential.
